Salesforce vs Dynamics in 2019: Which CRM Solution is better?

Your business stands on the ground of customer relationship and that needs to be firm.  The business growth solely depends on the database & customer management system being used. It helps to achieve the service level targets, maintain a relationship with customers and help your team in working efficiently. When it comes to CRM for business, MS Dynamics and Salesforce are the competitors. Both are equally comparable in marketing strategies, cost,  and software usage never fails to create a conflict in deciding the best. To iron out the confusion we have enlisted some basic feature comparison for the two and the most used business CRMs for large and medium scale businesses.

Let us look at the difference in these two and understand which one is the best to use-

PRICING

Salesforce is designed for medium to large-scale business and cost starts from $25 per month. It has various features and you do not pay extra bucks every time a new option is used  It offers different free automation tools and includes basic fare through its App Exchange.

Salesforce is known to have command on basic management of sales rather than operational management. Whereas Microsoft Dynamics is designed for large business and cost starting from $60 for a month. You can also ask for an additional subscription starting at $5, which includes reports customization, territory management, mobile offline sync, etc. It works on operational management, allows you to purchase different modules like inventory, and accounts mainframe.

EASE OF USE

Salesforce gives you the lighting experience of all platforms in one view and hosted on clouds. It provides the option of a global search to find them exactly what you want and allows you to select specific filters or areas such as account, leads, campaign, etc from software to pull out the reports.  It has management tabs for team, territory, and shared calendar, which helps to complete the task efficiently and more effectively. Unlike Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics allows you to find the different app in App Source or Microsoft market. You can control your own reports and records rather than being dependent on the Salesforce server. It uses a different interface so the option will look more like a button to link. The add-on service provided by MS dynamics allows accessing different self-help portal, unlimited online training, and on-call support during working hours.

CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED

There is no requirement to pay extra bucks in Salesforce for a different subscription for access to technical support and training and allows direct contact with the sales force agent without any hassle to pass through the third party while this is not available in Microsoft Dynamics. While Dynamics offers various monthly subscriptions that give you add on rights to pull out different reports or to get access to the different forums as per the company need and will give unlimited online training. You can avail the service of 24*7 customer support from salesforce agents to resolve any queries and issues.

MARKETING

Salesforce works tremendously with 6 marketing capabilities that are, tracking, accession, lead scoring, nurturing, lead conversion and its analysis reports. The option of Exact target and Pardot assures to give the resolution for email marketing and automation. While MS Dynamics features of Marketing pilot and subsequent rationalization is not able to do much with these capabilities.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

While salesforce cloud run by wave- a mobile-first, data solution that operates on the NoSQL database consumes data related to chatter, social and external CRM. It lacks the integration option but provides various third-party solutions whereas Microsoft Dynamics does not allow doing so. Microsoft’s Power BI circulate the user-generated, analysis with self-service BI analytics managed in the cloud for the association and splits. It makes simple by bringing all in one platform to facilitate extract, model, transform functions. Salesforce alone never allows you to share the data with other software like your ERP solution and always ask to download connectors, which may cost you an extra penny while in Microsoft Dynamics, it allows you to synchronize between platform.

WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE: SALESFORCE OR MS DYNAMICS?

Takeaway

There is no substantial reason through which we can decide the better CRM between these two. A major decision factor would be the specific requirement of a company.

While Salesforce is more cost-effective when you want to focus on sales and conversion. On the other hand, Microsoft Dynamics is a bit on the expensive side as the base fare is comparatively high. In addition, you need to buy add on service to access different data and online training. Salesforce has its own feature that offers you with Ad exchange and nearly cost you nothing extra while Dynamics 365 allows you to download different Microsoft app as per your needs. You can opt for Salesforce if you need access around third-party data or go for Dynamics if you need strong data integration tools. As Salesforce stores all your company data on a remote server and let you access the data and report of team and territory management and it’s not helpful if your company wants a high-security system to store data and other profile. Microsoft Dynamics allows you to store all the data at your own server rather than being dependent on the other servers.

If you think either of these products provides industry level features, comes with the ability to custom build modules and offers a scalable platform, then the confusion starts which one to go for.
